Don't Write Off Direct Sales!

Wednesday, January 14 2015

Guys, don't write off direct sales! I see it all the time. Someone lamenting that they need a job, they just got laid off, they need money, and so on and so forth. I offer the Avon opportunity, and get the door slammed in my face. Or I'll post a recruiting ad & barely get any bites. I'm confused, why are you turning down a job? Now I do understand the hesitation of having to invest in the business. Yes, Avon has a $15 start-up fee. Yes, you must purchase brochures. You must also work at it to get any results. Your income is a direct result of the effort that you put into your business. But here is the trade-off: 1. You literally make your own schedule. You don't have to set your alarm & wake up at an ungodly hour, unless of course you want to. No judgement from me. 2. You don't have to worry about snow days. 3. Feeling sick? Work from the computer that day, or better yet stay in bed. No stress of calling the boss, no worrying about losing your job. 4. You are available for your kids! This is probably my favorite perk. Being an Avon Representative has afforded me the luxury of being a stay-at-home mom, and you can't put a price on that. 5. If you move, you can take the business with you. 6. You can never get fired or laid off. Guys, the trade-offs are completely worth it! There's even more that I can add to the list but I'm sure you get the idea. Please, please, please stop dismissing direct sales as "not a real job." You could even give it a trial run, and see how it works for you. It's not for everyone, but it may be perfect for you. You'll never know unless you give it an honest chance. If you find that you hate it, then all you have to do is stop. It doesn't even have to be Avon that you join, any direct sales company will provide these freedoms for you! Just be sure to research the companies that you are interested in thoroughly, and don't be afraid to ask questions. If you are ready to talk to me about being an Avon Representative, then you can call or text me at 304-995-3116, or send an email to kburke.avon@gmail.com.
